Description

Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab

Location: Belleville, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (06:30 AM - 05:00 PM)
  • Rotating day off
  • Some evening, weekend, and holiday on-call required (10 shifts/month, 24/7)
  • Floating required within scope between nearby facilities as needed
  • Radial access and TR bands experience preferred
  • Sheath pulls required
  • Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Magnet designated
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Scrub color: Navy blue (provided)
  • Parking: Free

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association

Experience & Skills

  • Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
  • Radial access and TR bands experience preferred
  • Ability to float between facilities as needed
  • Must be able to work on-call shifts as required

Schedule & Hours

  • 4x10 hour day shifts per week
  • 36 hours/week for 3 shifts per week schedule or 48 hours/week for 4 shifts per week schedule
  • On-call coverage required (10 shifts/month)

Compliance & Background Requirements

  • Government-issued ID required
  • Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
  • Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
  • Fingerprinting required for assignments involving long-term care or rehab units in Illinois
  • Education verification required prior to start
  • Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be current throughout assignment
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask testing required and must be renewed annually
  • Immunizations and health screenings required:
    • Tdap (or Td booster if renewal)
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • Facility-specific compliance documents including HIPAA, confidentiality, hand hygiene, dress code, and latex allergy questionnaire must be completed and signed prior to start
  • Orientation modules required for RNs, completed through online platform

Additional Requirements

  • Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
  • Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required and must be current
  • Must adhere to facility policies including fingernail and dress code policies
  • Must be willing to comply with floating and on-call requirements
  • Local radius rule: candidates must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the facility

  • Block scheduling is not accommodated
  • Return-to-Office restrictions: 7 days within contract
  • Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months of start)
