Job Opportunity: Special Procedures Technologist
Location
- Charleston, South Carolina

Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Call requirements: one day per week and every 4th weekend
- Occasional float and call coverage
- 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Job Summary
- Perform special procedures under the supervision of certified radiologists following established protocols.
- Assist radiologists during procedures and supervise student radiologic technologists.
- Ensure patient care and safety during imaging procedures with age-appropriate care.
- Prepare and instruct patients regarding imaging procedures and assist with informed consent.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, staff, and radiologists.
- Maintain accurate documentation including orders, diagnosis, and clinical history.
- Adhere to radiation safety principles (ALARA) and comply with OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards.
- Participate in clinical education of student technologists.
- Support departmental goals and promote teamwork within the imaging department.
- Maintain confidentiality of medical and sensitive information.
- Demonstrate professionalism and a business-like appearance.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- South Carolina Radiation Quality Standard Association (SCRQSA) Radiographer Certification
- ARRT Radiography (R) Certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Knowledge of DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations
