Registered Nurse - Post Anesthesia Care

- Contract length: 24 weeks
Position Details
- Night shift position in a 23-hour overnight pod primarily focused on PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) care
- 12-hour shifts, preferably 48 hours per week (minimum 36 hours acceptable)
- Weekend schedule includes every other Saturday day shift and rotating weekend call
- Call requirements: Yes, rotating
- Float requirements: Must float as needed to PACU, Intermediate Care (IMC), and ICU units
Unit Information
- 40 pre/post-operative beds with 9 overnight bays (23-hour short stay embedded)
- Patient ratios: 2:1 in Phase 1 care; up to 3-4 patients in 23-hour stay
- Equipment used: IV pumps, PCA pumps, epidurals, arterial lines, telemetry monitoring, TEE (transesophageal echocardiography), central venous lines
- Electronic Medical Record system: Epic
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Maine
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 3 years of recent PACU (Post Anesthesia Care) experience, including experience within the last year
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Trauma Level 1 experience
- Prior travel experience (must have completed at least one prior travel contract)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
