Surgical Tech - OR Tech

Location: Burien, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced OR Tech for a travel contract in a hospital setting. The role involves working primarily in orthopedic and podiatry cases, with additional exposure to general surgery, gynecology, robotics, and spine procedures.

Work Schedule

• Dayshift: Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
• 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Call required approximately 1 shift per weekday
• Weekend call rotation about one weekend per month (may vary by staffing)
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff

Clinical Environment

• Operating Room with 6 active suites (out of 9 total), including specialty rooms for cystoscopy and robotics
• Average 15 cases per day, may start with fewer and add cases
• EMR system: EPIC
• Charge nurse available; no charge nurse coverage when on call
• IV team and Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
• Pharmacy available until 11 PM
• No floating; floor-specific orientation up to 3 days depending on skill set

Required Qualifications

• Valid Surgical Technologist license in Washington
• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential issued by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Orthopedic surgical experience
