Description
Respiratory Therapist - North Dakota
Contract Details
- Length: 13 weeks
- Shifts: 12-hour shifts (7 AM to 7 PM), rotating days and nights
- Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Yes, holidays in rotation
- Call or standby call: No
- Orientation: 1 to 2 weeks of unit/department-specific orientation depending on experience
Work Environment
- Patient Types: All age ranges (neonates, pediatrics, adults)
- Areas Covered: Emergency Room, inpatient units, some outpatient
- Hospitalist or Intensivist coverage: 24/7 in-house
- Respiratory Manager/Supervisor/Lead Therapist: Not available on shifts (days M-F)
- Traveler may be the only Respiratory Therapist in-house at times
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
- Equipment used: PB980, Hamilton C1 ventilators; V60 BiPAP; high flow devices
- Dress Code: Black scrubs preferred but any color is acceptable
Job Duties
- Perform arterial blood gases (ABGs), EKGs, and all respiratory therapy duties
- Intubation: Assist only; independent intubation not required
- Must be able to work independently
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: North Dakota Respiratory Therapy License required at time of submission
- Certifications:
- Required: Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (preferred), Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Preferred: Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Additional Information
- Fit Testing / Facial Hair Policy: Clinicians with facial hair must pass fit testing (3M Aura 1860 or 1870+). If unable to pass, a Portacount test is required but cannot be completed with facial hair. PAPR use is not available on site for facial hair issues. Failure to comply may result in contract cancellation.
- Number of treatments per day: Varies
- Radius Rule: Candidates must be located within 50 miles and cannot be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any related healthcare facilities within the system.
- Return to Office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approvals.
