Description

Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab

Location

  • Portland, Maine

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Schedule

  • Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Rotating days Monday through Friday
  • Rotating weekend call: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM Saturday and Sunday
  • Weekend rotation: once per month
  • On-call: 1 night per week from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM and rotating weekends
  • Holiday expectations discussed during interview

Unit and Patient Population

  • 5 bays and 1 procedure room
  • Patient types: Inpatient, Outpatient, Emergency Department (discussed during interview)
  • Beds in facility: 70 licensed beds

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience in Cath Lab and/or Interventional Radiology
  • Prior travel experience not required

Required Certifications

  • Registered Nurse license
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Cardiac catheterization procedures
  • Angiograms
  • Interventional Radiology cases such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, nephrostomy tubes
  • Administration and recovery of sedation patients
  • Arterial access recovery
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team

Support and Orientation

  • RN supervisor available on the floor to oversee traveler
  • Orientation period dependent on experience
  • No floating required

Technology and Equipment

  • Electronic charting system: Cerner
  • Medication dispensing system: Pyxis
