Registered Nurse – Med Surg Telemetry
Location
- Farmington, New Mexico
Employment Type
- Travel contract
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Unit & Facility Overview
- Medical Unit with 43 beds
- Trauma Level II facility
- Patient population: adults (18 years and older)
- Patient ratios: 1:5 and 1:6
- Equipment used: vital signs machine, bladder scanner, IV pumps, thermal imaging, lifts, tube feeding pumps
- Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
Schedule & Hours
- Night shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend shifts: recommended minimum of 2 per month
- Call requirements: none
- Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
- Option for 36 or 48 guaranteed hours
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Job Responsibilities & Common Diagnoses
- Care for patients with diagnoses such as cirrhosis, sepsis, pneumonia, respiratory illnesses, wounds, congestive heart failure (CHF)
- Float to other units as needed per facility requirements
Additional Notes
- Area specific competency exam and skills checklist required for submission
- Screening questions part of the application process
- Facility serves a broad region including parts of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
