Description
Registered Nurse - Surgery
Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM)
Job Summary
- Provides independent nursing care in a surgical setting, managing routine and complex patient needs.
- Demonstrates clinical awareness and applies nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
- Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers.
- May be required to float between primary and main campuses based on staffing needs.
- Expected to stay and complete scheduled cases if they run past shift end.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
- Operating Room (OR) experience
- BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Work Schedule & Requirements
- Full-time, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts.
- No mandatory weekend or on-call requirements; voluntary call coverage possible.
- Blocked scheduling is not accommodated.
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Must be willing to float between locations as needed.
