Job Opportunity: Hospice Outpatient Chaplain

Location

  • Albany, Oregon

Employment Type

  • Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

  • Days: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • No weekends
  • 24 hours per week (0.6 FTE)

Job Description

  • Provide hospice spiritual and emotional support to patients and families during the final stages of illness.
  • Services delivered primarily in home settings, including private residences, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living, and adult foster homes.
  • Support includes intermittent skilled nursing visits, pain and symptom management, medical social services, counseling, spiritual support, hospice aides, trained volunteers, and bereavement support.
  • Must be able to travel to multiple points of care.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oregon.
  • Psychiatric experience, with at least 1 year of experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Experience or training in pastoral/spiritual care, including Stephen’s Ministry and Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
  • Ordained, commissioned, licensed, or endorsed by a pastoral/spiritual community.
  • Valid driver’s license and personal automobile with required insurance; vehicle must be maintained in good working order.
  • Ability to travel for work assignments.

This position is ideal for chaplains with hospice or behavioral health experience who are comfortable providing spiritual care in diverse home and facility settings.
