Description
Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel Assignment)
Location: El Paso, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)
Hours per Week: 36
Weekends: Required (4 weekend days per assignment)
Call Requirements: None
Unit Overview
- Emergency Room with 26 beds
- Staff on Night Shift: 1 CNC, 1 HUC, 6-7 RNs, 2 PCTs/Paramedics
- Patient Ratio: 4:1
- Equipment: Ventilators, EKG, Teleneuro
- Electronic Medical Record: Level 3
- Permanent positions available on unit
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse License (RN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention Training)
- NIH Certification
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
Typical Procedures Performed
- IV insertion
- EKG monitoring
- Foley catheter insertion and removal
- Lumbar puncture
- Central line care
- Moderate sedation
- Cardioversion
Preferred Skills (Not Required but Highly Valued)
- STABLE certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

- Dress code: Scrubs in cobalt/royal blue only (no other colors accepted)
