Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Alaska

Location

• Flexible shifts including Days and Nights
• 36 hours per week

Job Summary

• Provide nursing care to patients of all ages across multiple units including Medical/Surgical, Emergency Department, and ICU.
• Independently coordinate and perform nursing procedures based on provider orders, nursing policies, and standards of care.
• Float between Med/Surg, ED, ICU as required.
• Make clinical decisions independently during shifts and maintain accountability for all nursing actions.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to CNAs and Techs.
• Manage patient care plans, assessments, and documentation thoroughly.
• Provide patient and family education, counseling, and support.
• Participate in staff meetings, unit goal setting, and ongoing education.
• Serve as a resource and mentor for new staff, travelers, and students.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Valid RN license in Alaska
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience within the last year

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
