Job Opportunity: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Alaska
Location
- Sitka, Alaska

- Flexible shifts including Days and Nights
- 36 hours per week
Job Summary
- Provide nursing care to patients of all ages across multiple units including Medical/Surgical, Emergency Department, and ICU.
- Independently coordinate and perform nursing procedures based on provider orders, nursing policies, and standards of care.
- Float between Med/Surg, ED, ICU as required.
- Make clinical decisions independently during shifts and maintain accountability for all nursing actions.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to CNAs and Techs.
- Manage patient care plans, assessments, and documentation thoroughly.
- Provide patient and family education, counseling, and support.
- Participate in staff meetings, unit goal setting, and ongoing education.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for new staff, travelers, and students.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Valid RN license in Alaska
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience within the last year
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
