Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Henderson, North Carolina

Unit and Facility Overview

• Trauma Level: Medical Surgical
• Number of Beds: 48
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: Paragon
• Patient Population: Adult medical-surgical patients
• Shift Hours: 36 hours per week (weekly guaranteed)
• Weekend Hours: As needed
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Rare; may occasionally float to inpatient rehab or emergency room

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience within the last year
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience working with a 1:6 patient ratio

Skills and Experience

• Ability to start IVs, insert Foley catheters, and insert NG tubes
• Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips
• Preferred experience with a 1:6 patient ratio and high patient turnover
