Description
Registered Nurse - ICU
Location: Smyrna, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Number of Beds: 16
- Patient Ratio: 2:1
- Staffing: Unit has tech support; floating in rotation with full-time staff and other travelers
- Equipment: GE Monitors, Nova glucometers, Pyxis medication dispenser, Drager ventilators
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling: Every other weekend required
- Dress Code: Charcoal gray scrubs
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) License
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Certification
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in ICU or related specialty
Skills & Competencies
- Positive attitude, teamwork, and problem-solving skills required
- Advanced skills in ventilator and sedation management
- Medication titration experience needed
Procedures Performed on Unit
- Tracheostomy placement
- Bronchoscopy
- Cardioversion
Additional Unit Information
- Trauma Level III certification for the hospital
- Patient experience expectations include AIDET communication, use of communication boards, and medication teaching
This position offers the opportunity to work with experienced staff and advanced technology in a well-equipped ICU setting.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Trauma Level III certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
