Description
Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Job Description
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Pediatric ICU or Neonatal ICU.
- Only Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) are eligible.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Texas.
- Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
- Submission of a current resume/profile.
- Two professional references prior to first assignment.
- Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and match address on file).
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other required screenings within 30 days of assignment start.
- Employment verification for the past seven years.
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
- Signed assignment agreement and onboarding education attestation.
- Completion of specialty exam (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years).
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics (minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years).
- Annual skills checklist for specialty.
- Confirmation of assignment documentation on agency letterhead with accurate start and end dates.
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- Optional: Influenza vaccine during flu season (exemptions accepted but mask required).
- Optional: Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
- Optional: Post-assignment hiring manager evaluation and legal name change documentation.
This position requires a dedicated respiratory therapist with specialized pediatric or neonatal ICU experience, appropriate certifications, and compliance with comprehensive onboarding and health requirements.
