Description

NICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Provide nursing care in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Care includes well babies and attending deliveries as the resuscitation nurse for newborns
  • Weekend work as needed; weekend block schedule may be considered but no open block scheduling
  • Local candidates within 100 miles are not accepted (strict radius)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
  • Minimum 2 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, with NICU experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Two forms of government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, social security card, passport)
  • Background check within 60 days of start including statewide, county, federal searches, and education verification
  • Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN only)
  • Drug test: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start; no pending results accepted
  • Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year (must pass without limitations)
  • Immunizations and proof of immunity or vaccination for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for this NICU position)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30)
  • Two recent professional references required
  • Skills checklist and internal evaluation as applicable

Additional Requirements

  • All requested Return to Office (RTO) dates must be submitted with application; 2 out of 3 holidays must be worked
  • Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, recent within 6 months)
  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
  • Confidentiality acknowledgment must be signed prior to start
  • EPIC questionnaire required for RNs; EPIC experience may allow testing out of training during orientation

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position
  • Weekend shifts are required as needed, but block scheduling is limited
  • No local candidates accepted within 100 miles radius
  • This is a day shift position only; no night or evening shifts available

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-acuity pediatric Level I trauma center NICU with a focus on advanced neonatal care and resuscitation.
