Description

MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Pediatric focus)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (3 shifts per week)
  • Hours: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
  • Weekend work: As needed
  • Schedule: Fixed (no block scheduling)
  • Local radius rule: Candidates must be located more than 100 miles away (no locals accepted)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist
  • MRI Technologist experience within the last year
  • ARRT certification
  • Experience working with Pediatric patients

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Two forms of government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license, social security card)
  • I-9 verification
  • Background check within 60 days of start, including statewide, county, federal searches, and education verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
  • Education verification (diploma/transcript not accepted as substitute)
  • Separate sex offender search
  • Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check (TN candidates only)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending results accepted)
  • Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year of start (must pass without limitations)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for this facility)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if low/equivocal)
    • Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if low/equivocal)
    • Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30)
  • Photo badge meeting strict guidelines (passport-style, no glasses glare, no head coverings except religious, no piercings visible)

Certifications

  • ARRT MRI certification (mandatory)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC)
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, and other certifications not specifically required for this role but may be relevant for other specialties

Additional Requirements

  • Two recent professional references required
  • Skills checklist and internal evaluations required if employed with agency for one year or more
  • Must submit all required documents at time of submission, including driver’s license and RTO restrictions
  • No multiple submissions to different job IDs allowed; only one submission per candidate

Facility & Work Environment

  • Pediatric hospital, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center
  • Strict dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, specific colors for other roles; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
  • Business casual attire with lab coat for RN Case Managers
  • Facility does not allow POC drug tests or pending compliance at start

Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required, but first-time travelers must have 3 years of experience
  • Pending licenses are not accepted; must be fully licensed and compliant with NLC
  • Candidates must be proficient with GE MRI systems
  • Locals within 100 miles are not accepted for this travel contract
