Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Med Surg/Telemetry

Specialty & Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Med Surg, Telemetry)
- Minimum 2 years recent Med Surg nursing experience required
- At least 1 year of prior travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
Work Schedule
- Day shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Weekend rotation as needed (no weekend block scheduling except possible consideration)
- On-call as needed
Patient Ratio
- Approximately 1 nurse to 6-7 patients
- Transitioning to team nursing model with LPN support
Licensure & Compliance
- Must hold a current Tennessee RN license or multistate license compliant with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
- Pending licenses are not accepted
- Must comply with all facility and state licensing requirements
Travel & Location Restrictions
- Candidates must be outside a 100-mile radius (locals not accepted)
- Must submit Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at time of application
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) – required annually except for pediatric hospital assignments
- Other certifications as applicable to specialty and unit
Required Documentation & Background Checks
- I-9 verification and two forms of government-issued ID
- Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start
- Background check within 60 days including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
- Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check (TN only)
- Education verification (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)
- Two recent professional references
- Skills checklist and internal evaluation if employed with agency for 1+ year
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
- Fit test for 3M N-95 masks within 1 year (must pass without limitations)
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) within 1 year; if positive, chest x-ray required within 2 years plus annual TB questionnaire
- Proof of immunizations or positive antibody titers for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30)
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Photo badge meeting strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, no filters, recent within 6 months)
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
- Confidentiality acknowledgment must be signed prior to start
- EPIC questionnaire required for RNs (testing out of EPIC training possible if experienced)
- Onsite fit test and questionnaire completion required prior to start
Additional Notes
- Candidates must not submit applications to multiple job IDs simultaneously
- All documentation must be complete and submitted timely to avoid delays in start date
- Medical or religious exemptions for flu vaccine require detailed documentation and may delay start
This position is ideal for experienced Med Surg RNs with prior travel nursing experience seeking a 13-week travel assignment on a day shift in a telemetry/med surg overflow unit.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Tennessee
- Telemetry experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
- One year or more of total travel nursing experience
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
