Registered Nurse - Med Surg / Telemetry Unit (Travel/Contract)

Location: Germantown, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36

Job Description

• Work in Med Surg, overflow unit, post-surgical, and observation areas
• Patient ratio approximately 1:6 or 1:7
• Transitioning to team nursing model; LPNs will assist in this transition
• On-call and weekend shifts required as needed
• Weekend block scheduling generally not accommodated (may consider weekend block in some cases)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• One year or more of total travel nursing experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Additional Requirements

• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and internal evaluation required if employed with agency for 1 year or more
• Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no glasses glare, no hats/head coverings except religious, no piercings visible)
• Must comply with facility dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, no prints or embroidery, business casual with lab coat for case managers
• Electronic health record (EPIC) questionnaire required for RNs; opportunity to test out of EPIC training if experienced

Important Notes

• Locals within 100-mile radius are not accepted
• All Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be submitted with application; late submissions will not be approved
• Candidate can only be submitted to one job ID at a time per facility policy
• No pending compliance allowed at start date; all documentation must be current and complete

This position is ideal for experienced Med Surg travel nurses with prior travel assignments who are comfortable working night shifts in a team nursing environment.
