    Description

    Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract Position

    Location: Los Angeles, California
    Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
    Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
    Schedule: 6-8 shifts per month (4-5 weekdays and 1 weekend day)
    Contract Length: 13 weeks


    Unit and Procedure Details

    • 4 procedure rooms: 3 cath lab rooms and 1 dedicated electrophysiology (EP) lab
    • Patient population: Adults to geriatrics
    • Procedure types include:
      • Cardiac catheterization and interventions
      • Structural heart procedures (TAVR, Mitraclip, Watchman)
      • Peripheral vascular angiography and interventions
      • EP ablations and device implants
    • Scrubs provided

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in California
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
    • Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
    • Experience as an Electrophysiology Technician
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
    • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
    • Fluoroscopy Permit
    • Proficiency with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System)
    • Experience with fluoroscopy studies
    • Experience with stents, angioplasty, and angiograms
    • Experience with peripheral upper and lower extremities vascular and venous studies

    Compliance and Onboarding Requirements

    Background Checks

    • 7-year criminal background check within 90 days, including all counties lived/worked, national sex offender registry, and other standard checks
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks updated monthly

    Health and Safety

    • Physical exam within 1 year confirming freedom from communicable disease and ability to perform job duties
    • Negative TB test (TSPOT, QGold, or 2 PPDs) within 1 year
    • Fit mask test within 1 year (annual renewal required) if applicable
    • Drug screening: Negative 7-panel drug test within 30 days of start (instant acceptable)
    • Required vaccinations or documented declinations:
      • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years
      • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination series)
      • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination series)
      • Hepatitis B (3-dose series, positive titer, or declination)
      • Seasonal flu and COVID vaccine or facility-specific declination during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)

    Training and Competency Exams

    • Pass/fail dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams required for clinical staff as applicable
    • Medication/pharmacology competency exam with minimum passing score of 80%
    • Harassment prevention training (1 hour for non-supervisory clinical staff)
    • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training with in-person component required for clinical staff in certain units (can pend at start if online version on file)

    Documentation

    • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
    • Emergency contact form prior to start
    • Employment application/resume with at least 1 year relevant experience and 7 years work history if applicable
    • Two professional references from manager or above, validated within 2 years

    Additional Notes

    • Return to Office (RTO) documentation must be submitted prior to contract start
    • Facility-specific onboarding modules must be completed by 5 PM on the Monday before assignment start
    • Photo for badge must have white background, shoulders-up, submitted by Tuesday prior to start
    • Facility provides scrubs
    • Candidate must comply with all facility-specific safety and compliance requirements prior to start

    This position offers a specialized Cath Lab Tech role focused on structural heart and EP procedures with a supportive environment for first-time travel healthcare workers.
