Description
Registered Nurse (Oncology Infusion)
Location: Terre Haute, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (Monday - Thursday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Friday 7:00 AM - Noon)
Hours per Week: 40
Job Summary
Provide intravenous chemotherapy and other IV therapies, including pre- and post-treatment patient care in a busy chemotherapy infusion unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients prior to IV treatments
- Access Ports or peripheral IVs for lab draws and therapies
- Administer chemotherapy and other IV infusions, including prescribed intravenous and oral pre-treatment medications
- Operate infusion equipment and monitor patients during treatment
- Monitor and manage side effects or reactions according to protocols
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- ACLS (AHA) certification
- BLS (AHA) certification
- Chemotherapy infusion experience preferred; chemo certification is a plus but not required
- Experience with Cerner and Intellidose (TxM) systems is highly desirable
Additional Information
- Flexibility with hours based on patient schedules is preferred
- Prior chemotherapy infusion experience is strongly preferred to meet the fast-paced needs of the unit
