Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Employment Type: Travel
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Unit and Job Details
- Unit: Surgery / Operating Room (OR)
- Shift Options: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Floating: Required as needed (all candidates must be willing to float)
- Call Requirements and Weekend Work: To be discussed during the interview
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license (temporary licenses NOT accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
- Experience in robotics surgery
- Experience in urology, general surgery, bariatric surgery preferred
Procedures Commonly Performed on Unit
- Liver, kidney, and kidney-pancreas transplants
- Variety of general surgery procedures including robotics, bariatric surgery, ENT, ophthalmology, and plastic surgery
Dress Code and Appearance Guidelines
- Scrubs: Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
- Nails: Must be clean and healthy
- Hair: Neat and clean, no extreme styles or colors
- Facial Hair: Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
- Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; uncovered body art addressed individually
- Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; all other visible piercings prohibited
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be informed about the facility’s floating policy during the interview
- Attendance and unit-specific policies will apply and must be acknowledged upon hire
