Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital
Location: Amarillo, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
- Facility Size: 450-bed hospital with approximately 360 census
- Environment:
- Trauma Level 3 hospital
- 7 floors providing therapy services
- Patient populations include orthopedic, neurological, oncology, post-op back and neck, basic medical-surgical, and ICU (medical, cardiac, surgical)
- Team:
- 8-10 Physical Therapists per day
- 6-8 Physical Therapist Assistants per day
- Collaborative work with Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Case Management teams
- Travel: Locals within 50 miles are not accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year history, education verification, and federal exclusions
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or documented history)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation
- Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)

- Complete employment application/resume
- Unit-specific skills checklist annually
- 7-year work history verification
- Clear headshot photo for badge
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance
