Description
Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Location: Crown Point, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Neonatal Intensive Care
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
- Weekend Shifts: As assigned
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: May float to postpartum unit when needed
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 25
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 to 1:3
- Patient Population: Patients of all gestational ages and acuity levels
- Equipment Used: Bubble CPAP, Ventilators, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Feeding Pump, Breast Pump, Alaris IV Pump
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 3 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience
- NICU experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- BLS certification
- NRP certification
Preferred Skills
- IV insertion
- Delivery room stabilization
- Experience with CPAP and ventilators
Work Environment & Culture
- Team-oriented, adaptable to changes in patient assignments
- Hospital-issued scrubs required (no personal scrubs allowed)
Additional Notes
- No prior travel experience explicitly required
- No call responsibilities
- Candidates may be required to complete education modules prior to the first day
