Description
Cardiovascular Technologist – Cath Lab
Location: Puyallup, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 10-hour rotating shifts (0600–1630 or 0700–1730 depending on call status)
Hours per Week: 40
Job Overview
- Backfill position starting 4/21/26
- Work in a Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds
- Two Cath Labs available
- Approximately 8 cases performed per day, including diagnostic/interventional procedures such as LHC/RHC, NSTEMI/STEMI, Impella, IABPs, Rotablator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave, temp pacers, peripheral diagnostics/interventions, and loop recorders
- Electrophysiology (EP) cases include Micra, pacemaker, AICDs, lead extractions/revisions, and generator changes
Schedule & Call
- Call every 4th weekend and 1-2 weeknights per week
- Weekday call (Mon–Thu): once per week, ends at 0700 next morning
- Weekend call (Fri–Sun): every 6th weekend, ends Monday 0700
- 30-minute response time required
- No sleep room available; Admit/Recovery unit can be used if necessary
- Holiday expectation: 1 holiday per contract, call only
- Rotating day off each week
- Weekend rotation is call only
- Lead Tech manages regular and call schedules
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience for first-time travelers; 1 year acceptable if prior travel experience exists
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Washington State license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- ARRT or RCIS license (Cath Lab Tech credential)
- Experience required with listed Cath Lab and EP cases, including ability to scrub and operate table simultaneously
- Monitoring experience preferred
- COVID-19 vaccination required
Orientation & Training
- First day: New Employee Orientation (NEO) with the health system
- Remainder of first week: department training
- Option to take buddy call during first week; independent call starting second week
Support & Team
- Scheduler and Charge Nurse/Lead Tech available
- Respiratory Therapy, Hospitalists, and Intensivists available 24/7
- Cardiologist on call at all times and present during the day
- Rapid Response Team (RRT) and Code Team available as needed
- Transporter support available, but staff may assist with transporting telemonitored patients
- Manager present during the week
Equipment & Technology
- EMR system: EPIC
- IV pumps: Alaris
- Medication dispensing: Pyxis
- PACS: Picom
- Hemodynamic monitoring: Merge (experience preferred)
- C-arm: GE Alea (experience not required)
Additional Information
- Possibility of floating to a nearby Cath Lab (about 15 minutes away), with advance notice; floating up to once per week but may not be required
- Scrub color and lead scrubs provided; extended sizing available for scrubs but not for lead scrubs

- Flu documentation for 2025-26 season
- Annual core competencies and skills checklist
- Criminal background check and drug screen required
- Immunizations and titers including Hep B, MMR, Varicella, TDAP
- HIPAA and confidentiality training
- Physical exam and PPD testing
- Employment authorization and photo ID verification
- Other standard healthcare compliance screenings and authorizations as required by the facility
