Description
Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
Location: Quincy, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
Seeking a registered traveling nurse with experience in Cardiovascular Intensive Care. Open heart surgery experience is preferred. Position available for one day shift (12 hours) per day, 36 hours per week.
Patient Population
- Post PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention)
- Post Bypass
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- CVICU experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
Experience & Skills
- Preferred experience with sheath removal and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
- Ability to titrate drips required
- RNs expected to interpret cardiac monitor strips (Draeger monitors used)
Unit & Support Staff
- 24/7 in-house intensivist and hospitalist coverage (Doctors and Nurse Practitioners)
- Respiratory Therapists assigned 24/7 to ICU/PCU with full respiratory equipment (ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, etc.)
- Telemetry monitor technicians present on unit
Shift Details
- Day shift only
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
