Description
Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Tampa, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Caseload: 20-30 cases per day
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
- Trauma Level: Level II Adult Trauma, Level I Pediatric Trauma
- Beds: 615 staffed beds
- Work Schedule:
- Weekend work required every other weekend
- On-call required weekdays starting at 5:00 PM, 24-hour on-call coverage on scheduled weekends and recognized holidays
- Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs (no floating to sister facilities)
- Locals: Not accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: Apply after first call off per pay period
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Florida
- Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- Vascular Technologist experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
Job Responsibilities & Environment
- Work in 4 procedure rooms (3 with biplane imaging; equipment includes Siemens and GE systems)
- Procedures include stroke intervention, neurointerventions, pulmonary embolism thrombectomy & thrombolysis, deep vein thrombosis interventions, pain management, oncology procedures (Y-90, MAAs, chemoembolizations), and more
- Scrub color: Black or Navy
- Charting system: Cerner
- Parking cost: Included
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Standard background check within 1 year including 7 years of residence/work/school history
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Fingerprinting:
- Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
- Education Verification:
- Required for all healthcare professionals; foreign equivalency evaluation required if education was outside the US or Puerto Rico
- Physical Exam: Required within 6 months of start
- TB Testing: PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 10 weeks of start; chest X-ray and TB questionnaire if prior positive PPD
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal titers
- Hepatitis B: Titer, series, or declination
- Varicella: Titer or 2 vaccines, booster if low/equivocal titers
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination accepted (mask required if declined)
- Drug Testing: Standard 9-panel within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- COVID-19: Vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Respirator Clearance: Required annually if respirator use is needed
Training & Competency Requirements
- Stroke Education CEUs: 8 total required (including NIH Stroke Certification and mRS certification)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Color Blind Testing (Relias) required prior to start
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units (not applicable here but may be relevant if floating)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for behavioral health roles (not applicable here)
Additional Facility-Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge: Clear, professional photo with solid background required prior to start
- Dress code and tobacco policy acknowledgment required
- Completion of online account registration and mandatory training modules prior to start (approx. 4-8 hours)
- Fit mask acknowledgment required
- References: 2 professional references from past 2 years required
- Employment application and skills checklist must be submitted and approved
