Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Rumford, Maine
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM (Flex Position)
Hours per Week: 36
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend required
Call Requirements: None

Facility & Unit Overview

• Critical access hospital with 25 beds
• Level 3 Trauma Center
• Emergency Department with patient ratio approximately 1:2.5
• Patient population includes all ages and a wide range of illnesses and injuries
• One of only two RNs working in the department, requiring a high skill level
• Electronic Health Records: Omnicell, Cerner, SBAR
• Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP (all required)
• Experience with triage

Job Responsibilities & Skills

• Provide emergency care to all patient ages and conditions
• Manage a diverse patient population in a small hospital setting that serves as the primary trauma center within a 40-mile radius
• Work independently as one of two RNs in the department
• Utilize critical thinking and advanced clinical skills to assess and treat patients

Additional Information

• No float requirements
• No prior travel experience required
• Weekend work every other week is mandatory
• No call duties
