Physical Therapist Travel Job – Austin, Texas
Position Details
- Job Title: Physical Therapist
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Hours per Week: 36
- Call Requirements: None
- Weekend Schedule: Rotating every 3 to 4 weekends
Unit Overview
- Unit Size: 72 beds
- Staffing: 2 PTs, 1 OT, PRN Speech Therapist
- Typical Patient Care: Acute care including ICU/CCU; may be the only PT on weekends
- Common Procedures: Open heart surgery, TAVR, LVAD implants, Impella, Balloon Pump, other cardiac surgeries
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
- Work Environment: Small hospital with strong communication and support among providers and therapy staff
- Communication Tools: iMobile used for coordination with hospitalists, case managers, and nursing staff
- Staff Experience: Existing PT staff have 15+ and 30+ years of experience; includes a certified wound care therapist
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certified Wound Specialist (CWS)
- Experience with LVAD
- Experience with Impella
- Experience with Balloon Pump
- Experience with cardiac surgeries
