X-Ray Tech - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet recognized
Beds: 562 staffed beds
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (typically 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM)
- Schedule: One shift per pay period on 8-hour schedule; block schedule requests can be discussed with manager
- On-call: Required as needed
- Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
- Locals accepted without radius restrictions
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Illinois
- Active Illinois state license for Radiologic Technologist (ARRT R) required; pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS certification required
- X-Ray Technician experience
Additional Requirements & Notes
- Must have a valid US Driver’s License or US ID card
- Fingerprinting must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start for clinical candidates without an IL license
- Parking permit required (no cost)
- Charting system used: Cerner
- Scrub color: Any solid color
- Guaranteed hours subject to client call-offs up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay for cancelled hours
- RTO (Return to Office) restrictions ideally no more than 5 days
Summary
This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced X-Ray Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, holding an active Illinois license and BLS certification. The position requires on-call availability, adherence to comprehensive background and health screening protocols, and compliance with facility-specific documentation and immunization policies. The role is based in a large, acute care, Level I trauma hospital with a Magnet designation.
