Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Eureka, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Work in the Cath Lab performing diagnostic and interventional procedures related to Coronary Artery Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, and Cardiac Arrhythmias, including permanent pacemaker placements.
- Daily caseload: 8-12 procedures.
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM).
- Call required; no weekend or floating requirements.
- Orientation: 30 hours.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- Locals accepted.
- Block scheduling may be considered.
- Facility allows calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in California.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist.
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year.
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
- Fluoroscopy Permit.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.

- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer.
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season.
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
- Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates.
- Drug screen attestation required if instant drug screen used.
References & Employment History
- Minimum 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years required.
Training & Competency
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Competency exams required by specialty.
- Color blindness testing if specifically requested.
Orientation & Training Modules
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules prior to start, including:
- Annual regulatory requirements.
- Specialty-specific modules for Radiology/Cardiology and Cath Lab roles.
- Epic training modules as applicable.
- Trauma-informed care modules if required.
- Modules assigned based on region, specialty, and role.
Additional Notes
- Radiation badges issued by the facility for applicable units.
- Facility may require floating to other nearby locations within reasonable distance.
- Pending state licenses and permits will be considered if application is in process at time of submission.
