Description
Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM
Hours per week: 36
Job Description
- Provide total care for ICU patients in a 12-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:2-3.
- Manage ventilators, titratable drips, medication mixing, and patient hygiene.
- Floating required to Emergency Room (ER) and Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) departments:
- ER float duties include assisting with call lights, medication passes, patient transport, IV starts, and blood draws (no full patient assignments).
- Med Surg float duties may require taking a full assignment of up to 6 patients or acting as an aide for up to 12 patients.
- No call required.
- Holidays are required.
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used: MedHost.
- Scrub color: Any.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience in Emergency Department (ED) nursing
- Experience in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) nursing
Additional Information
- Floating schedule is managed via a float log with rotation; exceptions may be made based on ER staffing needs.
- Blocked scheduling may be accommodated but must be specified in the submission.
- 48-hour guaranteed hours are not approved.
