Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)

Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of specialty experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics. First-time travelers are accepted. The position requires working every third weekend and includes floating within scope to meet facility needs. Pending licenses are accepted.
Required Qualifications
- License: Current RRT license required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
- Special Skills:
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
- Airway management and suctioning skills including:
- Endotracheal tube suctioning
- Extubation
- Nasal airway suctioning
- Oral airway placement
- Oropharyngeal suctioning
- Sputum specimen collection
- Tracheostomy suctioning
- Medication administration experience with:
- Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent
- Inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids
- Lidocaine, Nitric Oxide (INo)
- Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Xopenex
- Familiarity with medication delivery systems:
- Aerosol setup mask and trach
- Metered dose inhaler
- Nebulizer use: handheld, T-piece, trach collar, ultrasonic
- Oxygen therapy including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) interpretation
Schedule & Work Details
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- On-call: Not specified
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Block scheduling: Not specified
- Locals accepted: No (local radius rule: 75 miles)
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: No more than 7 days
- Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks (cancelled shifts must be regular shift length)
Additional Requirements
- Government-issued ID required (e.g., driver's license or state ID).
- Criminal background check within 6 months required, including statewide and nationwide searches.
- Education verification required (highest related education).
- Various state-specific background checks and registries depending on assignment location.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
- Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) required and must be renewed annually.
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (with specific timing requirements)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be current throughout assignment.
- Various facility-specific compliance documents and training modules must be completed prior to start and annually thereafter.

- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred).
- Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required.
- Competency exams including medication/pharmacology and unit-specific exams required annually.
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI, MAB).
