Description
Registered Nurse - Rapid Response
Location: Las Cruces, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Role Details
- Department: Emergency Department (ER Service)
- Trauma Level: Level IV
- Number of Openings: 1
- Shift: See shift details (36 hours per week guaranteed)
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend / as needed
- Call Requirements: None
- Float Requirements: As needed
- Number of Beds in Unit: 20
- Patient Population: All ages (geriatric, adult, pediatric)
- Patient Ratios:
- ESI 1, 2, & Horizontal 3s – 4:1
- ESI Vertical 3s, 4, & 5 – 7:1
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) System: MedHost
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current certifications (must be valid prior to start):
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Must complete New Mexico state fingerprinting and background check process before hire; a 14-day waiver with supervision is allowed while waiting on results
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience in Emergency Services, Critical Care, and Trauma nursing
- Comfortable working in a high-acuity emergency department setting
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to teach others
Additional Information
- Orientation is held weekly on Mondays
- Scrub color: Any
- Unacceptable attire: Casual wear or other facility-branded clothing
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
