Registered Nurse - ICU
Location
- Bowling Green, Kentucky

Unit Information
- Unit: ICU/CCU
- Number of beds: 16
- Patient ratios: Typically 2:1, occasionally 3:1
- Staffing: Unit secretaries and tech availability varies; tech staffed depending on census
- Scheduling: 36 hours per week
- Floating: Float in rotation with core staffing
- Documentation system: Meditech
Equipment and Procedures
- Equipment used: Impella, GE monitors, Temporary Pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun, Hemodynamic monitoring
- Procedures performed: Central line insertions, dialysis catheter insertions
Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Certification
Required License
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in ICU or critical care specialty
Skills and Attributes
- Critical thinking
- Self-motivated
- Advanced clinical skills relevant to ICU care
Work Environment
- Team-oriented with a mix of experienced staff on day and night shifts
- Flexible scheduling options
Dress Code
- Scrubs of any color allowed
- No denim, capris, or camouflage patterns

- The unit has received recognition such as the Daisy Award
- Staff have engaged in community support activities, e.g., making blankets for hospice patients
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kentucky
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
- ICU experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
