Description
Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)
Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Work first shift, Monday through Friday, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (staggered start between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM)
- Call rotation includes primary call approximately 1 day every 4 weeks plus every 5th-6th weekend, and backup call about 7 days every 9 weeks
- No float requirement
- Patient population primarily adults and geriatrics, with some adolescents
- Daily case load: 13-17 cases
- Procedures include all Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures such as stents, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, peripheral interventions, biopsies, drainages, upper/lower extremity, abdominal/pelvic, genitourinary, vascular studies, venous access, and neurological studies (including stroke intervention)
- Use of Siemens and Phillips x-ray equipment required; Acuson preferred
- Hospital orientation required during week one with daily classes
- Scrubs provided
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of recent Interventional Radiology Technologist experience
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- BLS certification
- ARRT certification
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
- Experience with EPIC and McKesson systems preferred
- Experience in outpatient, OR, ER, Level I trauma, teaching hospital, community hospital settings preferred
- Experience with ablations preferred
Patient and Unit Details
- Patient age group: majority adults and geriatrics, some adolescents
- Required skills in both neuro (including stroke intervention) and body procedures
Call and Weekend Requirements
- Primary call rotation approximately 1 day every 4 weeks and every 5th-6th weekend
- Backup call rotation approximately 7 days (including a weekend) every 9 weeks
- Weekends and evenings/nights on call rotation
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 6 months for clinical candidates
- Drug testing (9-panel) within 6 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; TB questionnaire if past positive
- Required immunizations or titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- Physical exam required per travel agency standards (not client-mandated)
- Radiation badge required for Interventional Radiology techs and related roles
- Photo for badge required immediately after signing contract (passport style, white background, business attire)
- Completion of hospital-specific orientation and compliance training modules required
- Medication Safety training and confidentiality agreement required
- Competency exams including Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain specialties
Additional Notes
- No Return to Office (RTO) after booking allowed; call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation
- Candidates must be available for interview within 72 hours of submission
- Candidates must complete all required education and compliance modules prior to start
- N95 fit mask required for respiratory therapy units (if applicable)
This position is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology professionals with prior travel experience seeking a 13-week travel contract in a hospital setting with a structured call schedule and diverse procedural exposure.
