Description
Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)
Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift Options:
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) with a day off after call
- Or 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) Monday through Friday
- Call Requirement: One night per week plus every 5th weekend
- Floating: Required to float as needed
- Team: Neuro team assignment; neuro experience preferred but not mandatory
- Systems Used:
- Medication system: Omnicell
- Documentation system: EPIC (minimum 1 year EPIC experience required)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
- ARRT Radiography (R) certification
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience with EPIC documentation system
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- 7-year background check within 12 months of start date
- Includes SS trace, alias searches, state and county searches for all places lived/worked in last 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and every 30 days thereafter
- Fingerprinting required if applicable (e.g., WV residency/work in last 7 years)
- Education Verification: Highest level of education must be verified (diplomas not accepted as placeholders)
- Drug Testing: 5-panel drug screen within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet job demands
- Immunizations and titers: TB (2-step PPD or equivalent within 90 days), Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B documentation or declination
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years if working in high-risk areas
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption required (not required for remote workers)
- Fit Testing: Respirator fit test completed onsite during orientation (N95 masks commonly used)
Orientation & Training
- Completion of approximately 12 hours of mandatory online modules within 72 hours of assignment
- 16 hours of non-billable orientation onsite, including clinical precepted portion
- Pass/fail testing on medication and arrhythmia exams required prior to start (two attempts allowed, 84% passing score)
- Annual competencies and core training (Parts I, II, III) required, covering universal precautions, cultural diversity, pain management, OSHA, patient safety, and more
Additional Requirements
- Badge photo meeting specific guidelines (passport style, plain background, no obstructions) required prior to start
- Floating policy acknowledgment required annually
- Internal evaluations and performance reviews required if employed over 1 year with the agency
- Resume/application must include a 7-year work history
Preferred Certifications (Check unit-specific requirements)
- PALS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification
- National technical certifications relevant to specialty
Summary
This is a travel contract position for an Interventional Radiology professional with at least 2 years of experience, required South Carolina licensure, and ARRT Radiography certification. The role involves day shifts with call responsibilities, floating duties, and working on a neuro team. Candidates must have EPIC experience and meet extensive compliance, health, and training requirements prior to starting.
