Registered Nurse - Emergency Department (Travel)
Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Overview
- Provide nursing care in a 54-bed Emergency Department designated as a Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center.
- ED treats over 60,000 patients annually, serving all age groups.
- Work alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and support staff in a 24/7 staffed environment.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for other patients.
- Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
- Work schedule includes 36 or 48 hours per week, holidays as required, and every other weekend.
- This is a patient-facing, clinical position.
- Facility uses Meditech EMR.
- Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
- Parking is available.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Additional Information
- Timesheet approver roles assigned (primary and backup).
- Not a remote position.
- Must be willing to float to other units/hospitals.
