Description
Registered Nurse - Endoscopy
Location: Billings, Montana
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately)
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the nursing care and safety of patients undergoing endoscopic and/or invasive procedures, with or without sedation. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and efficiency. The nurse serves as a resource to students and new caregivers and participates in quality improvement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Pre-operative care RN to assess patient needs and procedure requirements; perform ongoing assessments and document changes.
- Develop, implement, and communicate individualized plans of care to meet patient goals.
- Respond to patient comfort needs and provide health information to patients and families.
- Apply aseptic techniques and monitor compliance within the surgical team, initiating corrective actions as needed.
- Support, educate, and reassure patients and families throughout care.
- Utilize evidence-based research to guide practice and improve patient outcomes.
- Evaluate nursing care quality and participate in activities to enhance patient care and the healthcare environment.
- Document equipment use and supply consumption; assist with inventory management.
- May float to other perioperative or nursing units within scope of competency based on business needs.
- May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana
- Minimum of 1 year of endoscopy experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Shift Details
- 7 to 8 weeknight/weekend call shifts per 8-week schedule.
Experience Requirements
- Specialty experience: Registered Nurse in Endoscopy (RN - Endo)
- Minimum years of experience: At least 1 year of recent endoscopy experience.
