Description
Surgical Technician
Location: Mason City, Iowa
Shift: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (mostly day shift)
Schedule:
- Every third weekend coverage
- Call requirement: 10-12 days per month
- Holiday rotation as needed by department
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Specialty: Surgical Technician with Neurosurgery experience
Job Description
- 8-hour shifts, schedule may vary depending on department needs
- Primarily working in Neuro Operating Room
Required Qualifications
- Surgical Technician with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification or NBSTSA certification required
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Neurosurgery experience required
- Must meet all required immunizations and health screenings, including but not limited to:
- COVID-19 vaccine (including booster proof or approved exemption)
- MMR (proof of 2 vaccinations or IgG titer)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series (titers not accepted)
- Influenza vaccine or approved declination
- Varicella vaccination or IgG titer
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA TB test (with chest x-ray if positive, per regional requirements)
- Tdap vaccine (declinations accepted if no pediatric interaction)
- Fit test required for certain Iowa locations prior to start
- Physical/Health Statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)
- Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen completed within 30 days of start (NO THC)
- Specialty-specific competency testing and CORE exam within the last year
Professional and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years) and SSN verification within 30 days of start
- Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma/GED
- EPLS, OIG, NSO, OFAC checks within 30 days of start
- Signed confidentiality, conflict of interest, code of conduct, integrity and audit services forms
- System access form completed one week before start
- Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training (Iowa only)
- Non-employee upload form fully completed and uploaded
- Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors
- Color vision test
