Description
Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: Kingman, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in Arizona
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist via ARRT (N)
- BLS Certification issued by the American Heart Association
Key Responsibilities
- Adapt imaging procedures using professional judgment to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes
- Select appropriate shielding and immobilization devices for patients
- Evaluate lab values before administering contrast media or radioactive isotopes
- Perform venipuncture, maintain IV patency according to guidelines
- Administer radioactive materials and/or contrast agents per established protocols
- Monitor patients and equipment during procedures; document reactions and report issues promptly
- Verify patient identity using two unique identifiers and confirm procedure requests; verify pregnancy status when applicable
- Assess contraindications such as medications or inadequate patient preparation
- Document patient and exam details in PACS/RIS, including exam start and completion times
- Recognize significant clinical information from patient history and medical records impacting exams
- Acquire and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceutical dosages according to physician orders
- Monitor radioactive material levels to ensure regulatory compliance
- Maintain current licensure and certification through facility recordkeeping
- Follow CDC hand hygiene guidelines and standard precautions to reduce healthcare-acquired infections
- Comply with all National Patient Safety Goals
- Perform daily quality assurance checks on equipment to ensure reliability
- Maintain professional, respectful interactions with patients, families, visitors, and staff
- Stay current with Nuclear Medicine and CT technology advancements and maintain BLS certification
- Participate in staff meetings and complete annual mandatory hospital program updates
- Contribute to department and hospital goals for patient satisfaction
Additional Information
- Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted
- Client may cancel or call off up to one shift every two weeks
- 12 hours of non-billable orientation; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
- Work schedule is Monday through Friday
