ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Springfield, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU)
  • Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 - 07:15)
  • Average Daily Census: 10 patients
  • Unit Type: Trauma/Burn ICU with medical and cardiac overflow patients
  • Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet designated
  • Charting System: Cerner
  • Parking: Permit required, no cost

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Additional Requirements

  • Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including SSN trace, national criminal, sex offender, and FACIS Level 3
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
  • Primary source verification of state license and certifications
  • Competency exam required
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by appropriate healthcare provider, confirming ability to perform job functions without restrictions
  • Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Immunizations or documented immunity required for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
  • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
  • Photo for badge required before start
  • Code of Conduct acknowledgment required within 7 days of contract signing
  • Parking permit form to be completed within 7 days of contract signing (if applicable)
  • References: 2 professional references required

Work Conditions

  • Guaranteed hours with some allowance for client call-offs
  • Floating priority given to travelers
  • No radius restrictions for local candidates
  • RTO (Return to Office) restrictions ideally no more than 5 days

Notes

  • Scrub color: any solid color
  • Badge photo must be color, mid-shoulders up, plain background, no filters
  • Fingerprints must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start for candidates without an IL license
  • Candidates must comply with Illinois-specific background and registry checks within 30 days of start

This position is ideal for ICU RNs with at least 1 year of experience seeking a night shift travel contract in a Level I trauma center environment.
