Registered Nurse - ICU (LTAC)
Location: Odessa, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Provide ICU and Intermediate Care (IMC) level care in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) facility.
- Weekend scheduling is every other weekend (EOW).
- Local assignment with same pay for first-time travelers allowed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Experience in Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) and Intermediate Care (IMC).
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Proof of I9 or attestation.
- Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service).
- Proof of E-Verify or attestation.
- Background checks including:
- 7-year criminal check (covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
- Social Security trace
- County, Nationwide, Sex Offender checks
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (within 30 days of start and updated for renewals).
- NURSYS verification (required for all RNs).
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Completion of facility-specific documents and orientation materials prior to start.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Initial physical exam and annual updates confirming ability to meet physical demands.
- Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) or chest X-ray within 1 year; annual updates required.
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within the last 12 months (instant acceptable).
Additional Requirements
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
- Completed employment application/resume.
- Annual skills checklist for applicable unit.
- Performance evaluations if previously employed with the agency for over 1 year.
- Internal evaluations if employed over 2 years.
