Description
Physical Therapist - Acute Care Inpatient
Location: Reno, Nevada
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide comprehensive physical therapy services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in acute care inpatient settings. Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, and discharge. Supervise physical therapy assistants and rehab technicians. May float between inpatient hospital settings based on census and business needs. Participate in program development and outcome measurements as needed.
Work Schedule & Requirements
- Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week (to be discussed during interview)
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts
- Required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
- May be required to float within competency level to meet organizational needs
- Per diem staff must work at least 1 major and 1 minor holiday annually (major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day; minor holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day)
- Employer reserves the right to cancel shifts with 48 hours’ notice for low census
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Nevada
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide quality physical therapy services under supervision of therapy leadership
- Evaluate and treat gait and transfer limitations, orthotic/prosthetic training, and wound care
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care
- Provide direct clinical supervision of PT assistants and rehab technicians
- Deliver patient care across various therapy settings within the health system

- Facility is a Level II Trauma Center with advanced care capabilities including robotic surgery, heart failure center, neurosciences institute, and advanced imaging technologies
- The position supports a high-acuity environment with diverse patient populations
