Registered Nurse - Step Down
Location: Fort Smith, Arkansas
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Call Requirements: As needed by unit
Patient Ratio: 5:1
EMR System: EPIC
Float Requirements: Medical-Surgical Unit
Job Description
- Provide nursing care on a Step Down unit.
- Must be comfortable with rapid turnaround and changing priorities.
- Experience required with post-cardiovascular surgeries.
- Skilled in titrating cardiac drips including Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Esmolol.
- Experience using Bipap and Airvo respiratory support devices.
- Ability to recognize deteriorating patients promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arkansas.
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Experience with post-cardiovascular surgeries.
- Skilled in titrating cardiac drips including Nitro, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Esmolol.
- Experience using BiPAP and Airvo respiratory support devices.
Unit Information
- Step Down unit with a patient ratio of 5:1.
- Night shift with 36 guaranteed hours weekly.
- Call as needed by the unit.
- Float to Medical-Surgical unit as required.
- Dress code: Black scrubs.
