Radiology Technologist (Travel)

Location: Reno, Nevada
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Overview

• Perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures on neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Provide individualized patient care in a fast-paced, high-volume Level 2 trauma center environment.
• Operate imaging equipment and related machinery, ensuring patient safety and optimal image quality.
• Verify and execute physicians’ orders for diagnostic and therapeutic exams.
• Assist with billing, supply stocking, file maintenance, medical charting, informed consent documentation, and quality improvement studies.
• Collaborate with Radiologists to determine contrast media and improve imaging outcomes.
• May float to other modalities within the department as needed.
• Demonstrate competency in OR Suite, Trauma Suite, and portable radiography by 90-day evaluation; ongoing annual competency evaluations required.
• Schedule includes 3x12 hour night shifts, weekends, holidays, and possible call shifts. May require working major holidays and picking up additional shifts.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technologist license in Nevada.
• Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Work Environment

• Extremely busy and fast-paced hospital serving a 500-mile radius.
• Level 2 trauma center with stroke accreditation.
• 800 inpatient beds and 80 emergency room beds.
• Volume and pace comparable to a Level 1 trauma center.

Additional Information

• Travelers may be required to float within their competency level.
• Employer reserves the right to cancel shifts with 48 hours’ notice due to low census during the 13-week contract.
• Schedule varies based on department needs.
