Description
Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours (Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Weekend Commitment: Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
Unit Information
- Unit: Medical Progressive Care Unit
- Number of Beds: 27
- Patient Ratios: 1:3 or 1:4
- Patient Types: Sepsis, respiratory distress, substance abuse disorders, endocrine disorders, psychiatric disorders, renal conditions
- Equipment Used: Alaris Pumps, EKG monitoring
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Epic
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
- Specialty: Progressive Care (ICU level care)
- Must have comprehensive assessment skills and experience with peripheral lab draws
- Medication drips experience required, including norepinephrine, nicardipine, precedex, insulin, and diltiazem
- Floating to other inpatient areas required when home unit census is low
- Orientation includes unit-specific training, Epic training if needed, and completion of education modules on the first day
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing, with PCU experience within the last year
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience with nicardipine (gtt) medication drips
Work Environment & Culture
- Dress Code: Navy scrubs required; hoodies and non-facility sweatshirts are not allowed
- Personality Fit: Team player, positive attitude, flexible, empathetic
Reporting & First Day Instructions
- Report to 4 West in the Tower building
- Parking: Employee parking in designated yellow-lined spots
