Description
Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical
Location: Marquette, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Patient Population
- Acute Medical/Surgical unit on the 6th floor
- Trauma Level 2 facility
- Patient population: Adult and geriatric (ages 18-125)
- Patient ratios: 5:1 to 6:1
- Equipment includes telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pump, bladder scanner, and dynamaps
- Electronic Health Record system: Cerner
Schedule & Hours
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend hours: Rotating
- Occasional float to similar units
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Michigan
- Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
- Medical/Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
Additional Information
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly
- Dress code: Galaxy Blue scrubs preferred (Navy acceptable)
- Fingernails must be clean, short, and comply with hand hygiene policy
- Tattoos that may be offensive must be covered
- Excessive jewelry is not allowed
Skills & Experience Preferences
- Prior experience on a medical/surgical unit preferred
- Ability to manage common diagnoses and treatments in a medical/surgical setting
Notes
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify for travel status
