Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II
Location
- Grand Blanc, Michigan
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Schedule
- Full-time, weekdays 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM with one variable weekday off per week
- On-call required: 1 weekend per month (Friday 5 PM – Monday 6:30 AM) and 4 weeknights per month (5 PM – 6:30 AM next day)
- No weekend commitment outside of on-call
- 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Job Description
- Assist with orientation and training of Cath Lab staff
- Participate in special projects and relevant committees
- Monitor diagnostic cardiac catheter procedures and percutaneous interventions
- Recognize and interpret ECG changes, including lethal arrhythmias, heart chamber enlargement, and myocardial infarctions
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and intervene during cardiac arrest using ACLS standards
- Identify coronary anatomy in cine angiographic projections and cardiac pressure waveforms
- Calculate hemodynamic parameters and record catheterization events
- Set up supplies and equipment for diagnostic cardiac catheterization
- Perform cardiac outputs, O2 saturations, and Activated Clotting Time (ACT) measurements
- Differentiate between PTCA, directional and mechanical rotation atherectomy
- Understand extraction devices such as angiojet, rotoblator, and laser revascularization devices
- Explain indications and complications of thrombolytic therapy for Acute MI
- Identify benefits of intravascular ultrasound and Doppler velocimetry technologies
- Describe indications for electrophysiologic testing, pacemaker implant, therapeutic ablation, and implantable cardioverter defibrillators
- Utilize Cath Lab fluoroscopy system components to assist physicians during procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), or Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI) certification
