Description
Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (Travel Assignment)
Location: Austin, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, rotating weekends
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Call Requirements: None
Unit Overview
- Unit Type: Labor and Delivery
- Number of Beds: 32
- Staffing: Approximately 150 staff members
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Shift Staffing:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 co-charge nurse, RNs for 1:1 or 1:2 ratios
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 co-charge nurse, RNs for 1:1 or 1:2 ratios
- Typical Procedures: Spontaneous vaginal deliveries (SVD), cerclages, C-sections, trial of labor after cesarean (TOLAC)
- Equipment Used: Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, Intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC), Fetal Scalp Electrode (FSE), Toco, Ultrasound
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
- Permanent Positions Available: Yes
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) certification

- Scrubs must be navy blue
- T-shirts are not acceptable
- Solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts only
- Policies: Adherence to attendance policy is required
