Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - Vascular
Location: Plainview, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Must have experience in both Vascular Ultrasound and Echocardiography (Adult Echo, Contrast Echo, Stress Echocardiogram - Treadmill).
- No floating between units.
- On-call required:
- Monday to Friday: 5 PM - 8 AM
- 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday
- Weekends required on-call.
- Patient ratio: 8:1
- Echo tech skills are a hard-stop requirement; no training provided due to fast-paced environment.

Shift Details
- Day shift, 4 days a week
- 10 hours per day (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
- 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer.
- Cardiac Sonographer experience must be within the last year.
- Experience as a Vascular Sonographer.
Certifications (Must be current and valid)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- Chemotherapy certification (if applicable)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (if applicable)
- IV Certification (if applicable)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable)
- NIH Stroke Certification (if applicable)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) (if applicable)
Note: Certification requirements may vary based on clinical track and facility needs.
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (for specific state requirements)
- E-Verify attestation
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education verification required
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant acceptable with attestation)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Immunizations and health documents:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
- Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use, medically cleared annually (travel only)
- Drug testing attestation if instant drug screen used
References and Employment History
- Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates
- Work history verification required if exceptions to references are requested
Additional Requirements
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required prior to start
- Float policy acknowledgement: may be required to float to another facility within reasonable distance
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
- Color blindness testing if required by unit
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
Notes
- No block schedules required.
- Parking is free in any unrestricted space.
- OR provided; wear street clothes to the facility.
This position is ideal for Ultrasound Technologists with strong vascular and echocardiography skills seeking a travel contract in a short-term acute care setting with on-call and weekend responsibilities.
